It was the rich and subtle calmness that attracted me to live in San Marcos, a small village skirting Lake Atitlan hidden in extraordinary and dense subtropical vegetation.

Sixteen years ago the village of San Marcos had but a few stores, no restaurants, and no tourism - just the splendor of the great lake and plantations of coffee. In an enormous instant I realized this is where I would build my hotel and restaurant called Paco Real. The foundation was first laid in 1993 and the inauguration was in 1995. Eleven years later we have gradually and steadily built a loyal clientele. And so we welcome you.
